Why I Love Dipping

Can you imagine life without dipping sauces? How dull and boring! Dipping sauces are easy recipes. They are flavorful mixture that can have sweet flavors, or salty flavors. They can also be tangy, tart, spicy, and hot.

Well, many dipping sauces require simple ingredients that are most probably available in your kitchen pantry. What makes it even better is that you can adjust any dipping recipe to your liking.

When it comes to French fries or regular fries, ketchup might be the most famous dipping sauce worldwide. One of the tweaks is to add some mayonnaise, which they call fry sauce. However, it is insufficient, especially when paired with sweet potato fried dipping.

How About Some Scrumptious Mayonnaise Substitutes?

In my recipe card, I included mayonnaise. But hey! As I told you before, your dipping sauce can be adjusted. Well, I used regular mayo, but you can replace it with other ingredients. Here are some good options.

You can replace mayonnaise with sour cream if you like the taste. You can add little sour cream and use a little less mayonnaise for a different combo.

Plain Greek yogurt is a good substitute for mayonnaise. However, the texture of the dipping sauce might be a bit looser.

For garlic lovers, you can use garlic aioli instead of mayonnaise to make this sauce. What makes it even better is a sprinkle of paprika and a little bit of lemon juice.

It’s the Perfect Combination with Simple Ingredients!

Add your Special Touch!

Are you tired after a long busy day? Well, get your sweet potato fries and a bowl of dipping sauce lay down, and enjoy! Add your own touch and try different ways for a different sauce every time.

You might love your sweet potato fries with a spicy kick. Try adding some Cajun seasoning and sriracha sauce to the dipping sauce and enjoy! How about some hot red chili pepper or extra hot sauce? It’s up to you!

For a smokey citrus flavor, add some chipotle with a drizzle of lime juice. You will get an extra refreshing hot flavor that will blow your mind away. Try it now!

Few Tips

In a large bowl, double or triple the ingredients to make a large batch. Keep them in an airtight container like a mason jar in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Serve your dipping sauce in a small bowl. Don’t try to smear it over a plate. It wouldn’t look nice. Plus, you want to immerse your fries in the bowl.

You can replace maple syrup with a drizzle of honey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is aioli the same as mayonnaise?

No, they are not! While aioli is an emulsion of garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt, mayonnaise is an emulsion of egg yolks with vegetable oil and vinegar. There is no garlic flavor in the mayonnaise. As a shortcut, some may add garlic cloves to the mayo for an extra quick dipping sauce.

Is it hard to prepare sweet potato fries at home?

It’s a simple recipe! In a separate bowl, mix some brown sugar, olive oil, and a pinch of salt with the sweet potato slices. You can toss them in the air fryer to get the best sweet potato fries. You can also set them in a single layer on parchment paper and toss them in the oven until golden brown.

Can I use honey instead of maple syrup?

Yes, you can use a drizzle of honey instead of maple syrup. If you do, the taste of the dipping sauce might change slightly.
