  • 1 medium red or white onion quartered
  • ½ cup curly parsley minced
  • 2 teaspoons seven spices
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • ½ cup panko crumbs
  • ½ tablespoon Himalayan salt

Instructions

  • In a food processor place cubed chicken breast and grind, then add in panko crumbs, a small red or white onion, parsley, 7 spices, white pepper and salt. Grind until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Oil spray your hands then take about 2-3 tablespoons of the mixed chicken, form a round ball then form into a ½ inch patty.
  • At this point you can bake or sear the chicken patties, it is up to you.
  • To cook it on the stove top using a skillet or a griddle, generously grease the pan with avocado oil on medium-high heat. Place the chicken patties to cook then lower to medium heat. Cook on each side for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • These patties can also be grilled outdoors OR baked at 350°F for 35-40 minutes flipping once.
  • Enjoy with a burger bun with your favorite toppings. Make it low-carb and use iceberg lettuce instead of a bun.

Notes

  • After chopping parsley and onions, remove excess liquid using a paper towel to dry it as much as possible.
  • It’s better to use fresh ingredients than dried ones, as fresh parsley gives a more authentic flavor to Middle Eastern Chicken Kafta Burger.
  • Wet your hands with a bit of water or oil when you form the burgers. This will help you in shaping the burgers, and the mixture doesn’t stick to your hands.
  • When arranging the burgers on the griddle, make sure that they don’t touch each other, and let them chill for a few minutes to avoid their falling apart when grilled.
