Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons pine nuts
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • ¼ tablespoon salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin
  • 5 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Put the basil, nuts, garlic, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, and sea salt into a food processor and blend until a paste is formed.
  • Then, start adding olive oil little by little. After that add water until you get your preferred consistency.
  • Adjust it to your liking and enjoy!

Notes

Add a thin layer of olive oil to your jar to prevent it from turning dark.
Toasting your nuts is what gives a nutty flavor to the sauce which we are not necessarily looking for, so you could skip that.
When you're blending, don’t do it continuously as it might damage the basil which reduces the flavor of the sauce.
