Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • ¾ cup coconut milk carton coconut milk
  • ¾ cup canned coconut milk or oatmilk
  • 2 vegetable bouillon cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil; then sauté the minced garlic until fragrant over medium heat. Add in the flour and whisk for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add in the chicken or vegetable broth, coconut milk or oat milk, canned coconut milk, 2 vegetable bouillon cubes, salt and black pepper; whisk until the sauce has thickened and is smooth and creamy.
  • Adjust to taste. Garnish with freshly minced parsley and enjoy!

Notes

Tips for a Creamy Dairy-Free Alfredo Sauce
  • Allow your creamy pasta sauce to properly simmer before you take it off the heat. This is essential especially if you are working with almond or cashew milk.
  • Feel free to add additional flavors to your dairy-free alfredo sauce recipe. Some recipes suggest dropping a pinch of nutmeg for an extra kick.
  • Use a silicon whisk on your non-stick pan. You really don't want to ruin a perfectly good kitchen utensil.
