Flavorful Garlic Butter Rice

Garlic Butter Rice is one of the quick rice dinner recipes you can make in 30 minutes. This is a simple rice dish that requires few ingredients that you may already have in your pantry. It's vegetarian and absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups long grain rice rinsed
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 bouillon cube optional
  • salt if needed or as desired
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • First, wash and rinse the rice, then soak for 10 minutes in warm water and drain.
  • Next, in a medium pot on medium high heat, at the butter olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about two minutes.
  • Then, add and they washed and drained rice followed by the 3 cups of water and one bullion cube.
  • After that, gently sir and medium heat until the bouillon cube has melted then higher the heat to high for one minute. Cover the pot and lower the heat to simmer. Cook the rice for 15 minutes.
  • Once the rice is cooked remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.

Notes

Top Tips:
  • Although the recipe calls for water, you can substitute chicken or vegetable broth. Make sure to use low sodium broth or your rice will be too salty. Simply adjust the amount of salt if using regular broth.
  • We recommend using long grain rice for the best results. You could also use Basmati or Jasmine rice.
  • Don't be tempted to peek into the rice while it's cooking. Keep the lid on to allow the steam to work its magic!
  • Like your rice more cheesy? Simply top the finished rice with parmesan cheese..
  • Vegan? Simply use vegan butter. Make it as buttery as you like, but don't go overboard or the rice will become greasy.
  • Replace the chopped parsley with green onions.
