- 1½ cups Dates pittied
- 1 cup Hot water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Remove the seeds of the dates then place the dates in a high power blender with the hot water and baking soda. Turn the blender on high power until everything is well incorporated and date paste has formed.
To make it without a blender in a bowl and all of the pitted dates, then pout the hot water on top and mix and the baking soda. Set aside for 10 minutes and then mass using a fork until you have a formed date paste .
- Choose the right dates. Not all dates are the same! always Look for dates that are soft and plump, with no visible signs of mold or discoloration.
- Soaking the dates in warm water for about 10 minutes will help soften them and make them easier to blend into a paste.
- To add some extra flavor, try adding some spices or extracts like cinnamon, cardamom, or vanilla extract.
- If you find your date paste too bitter, try adding some honey or maple syrup to sweeten it up.
- It's recommended that you store it in the refrigerator.
