Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • 200 milliliters white vinegar
  • 200 milliliters water
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Slice the cucumbers around 2 mm thick.
  • Mix the sliced cucumbers with salt in a bowl. Let them set for 30 minutes.
  • Mix the water with the vinegar. Warm it just a little bit to dissolve the sugar in it. Let it cool.
  • Remove the salt, and drain the liquids from the cucumbers.
  • Place the cucumbers in a jar and cover them with the vinegar and water mix.
  • Cover and put the jar in the fridge for 3 hours or overnight.

Notes

  • If you want to spice things up, you can add some jalapenos or red pepper flakes to this recipe. Delicious!
  • White vinegar is always the first and most traditional option. However, if you like rice wine vinegar or apple cider, go for it, but it will change the flavor.
  • You can add ginger, garlic, or any herbs that you know you like.
  • The sweetener touch is as you prefer, some people like it tangy and some others prefer it sweeter.
  • The shape of the cucumber pickles is completely up to you. If you want them round, then count them into slices 2 mm inch thick.
