Ingredients

  • ½ cup Fresh-brewed coffee cooled or warm

For Banana-Date Mixture

  • 1 Ripe banana sliced
  • 2 Pitted Medjool dates chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Butter or coconut oil
  • ¾ cup Water
  • teaspoons Sugar

For Milk Mixture

  • 2 cups Milk whole, almond, oat,or coconut
  • ½ teaspoon Ground turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground cinnamon plus more for garnish
  • 1 pinch Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • teaspoons Sugar

Optional Topping

  • Whipped Cream

Instructions

Caramelize the Banana and Dates

  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add sliced banana, chopped dates, water, and sugar. Stir and cook down on medium-low until the mixture thickens into a soft paste.
  • Continue cooking on low heat until the mixture is caramelized and smooth. Remove from heat.

Prepare the Golden Milk Base

  • In a saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla extract, and sugar.
  • Stir and heat over medium-low for about 5 minutes. Do not boil.

Combine, Serve, and Enjoy

  • Add the caramelized banana-date paste to the saucepan. Use an immersion blender to puree until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the golden milk latte into two large mugs. Then pour in brewed coffee per mug.
  • Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon or turmeric. Optionally drizzle with honey for extra sweetness.
  • The golden milk banana-date coffee latte is ready to sip. Enjoy it cozy, naturally sweet, spiced, and lightly caffeinated.

Notes

Caramelize slowly: to bring out the natural sweetness of the banana and dates, cook them over medium-low heat.
Avoid boiling the milk: gentle heating keeps the milk smooth and prevents spices from becoming bitter.
Blend until silky: for a smooth café-style latte texture, use an immersion blender.
Coffee control: adjust the coffee amount to suit your preference. Use less coffee for a milder flavor or more for a bolder taste.
Spice to taste: add more cinnamon or a pinch of cardamom for a lightly warmer flavor.
