Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Whipped cream cheese
  • 2 cups Prego Spicy Marinara Sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Oregano
  • cups Shredded cheese
  • Crusty bread

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉.
  • Add the pizza sauce or marinara sauce to a bowl then whisk in the garlic powder and oregano.
  • To a 9 inch pie plate or cast iron skillet add a layer of whipped cream cheese then add the marinara sauce for the second layer.
  • For the third layer, add shredded cheese. Then add your favorite toppings like olives, mushrooms, green peppers and pepperoni.
  • Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Serve warm with crusty bread.

Notes

  • Make sure the whipped cream cheese is at room temperature for the best cream cheese texture. This facilitates mixing and produces a smoother, creamier dip.
  • Keep the seasoning in mind. The traditional pizza flavors are garlic powder and oregano, but you can taste as you go and tweak them to your liking. To add a little spice, you can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • For the layer of shredded cheese, pick a high-quality, low-moisture mozzarella cheese. It blends together smoothly and lends your dip its distinctive cheese flavor.
  • For an even spread, use a dish that is the proper size for your dip. It could overflow during baking if it's too big, causing the layers to be too thin.
