- 2 Brioche toast or plain
- 1 egg
- ½ cup plain or Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Take the preferred a slice of bread and press it down in the center using a fork.
In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt, the egg, vanilla, honey, and cinnamon.
Spread about 3 tablespoons of the custard mix onto the toast/bread of choice.
Place your favorite cut fruit and place it on top. (I enjoy strawberries or blueberries.)
Place the custard toast onto a lined baking sheet.
Bake the toast for 18 to 20 minutes until the custard is set. Bake for an additional 2 minutes if the custard jiggles or it not set yet. Check again.
Garnish with powdered sugar (optional). Enjoy warm.
You can substitute your favorite type of bread for the toast (white, whole-wheat, seeded, gluten-free etc..). However, I recommend using a brioche bread because it can hold the yogurt custard and it tastes great.
If you don't want to use honey, try maple syrup, agave syrup, or even date syrup.
A toaster over, a regular oven, or an air-fryer work for this recipe.
You can top your toast with fresh berries, fresh fruits (bananas, strawberries, figs, etc.., or canned fruits.
