Super Crispy Air-Fried Okra

Crispy, golden, and guilt-free, this air-fried okra is an easy recipe for a healthy snack or side dish in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound Fresh okra small to medium pods, washed and trimmed
  • ½ tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil or cooking spray
  • teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • spoon Black pepper
  • teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Wash the okra pods, pat them completely dry, and trim off the stems.
  • Place the okra in a bowl or directly into the air fryer basket. Drizzle with olive oil (or spray with cooking spray). Sprinkle with smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Toss or shake to coat evenly.
  • Set the air fryer to 420°F and cook for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The okra should be browned and crispy on the outside.
  • Enjoy hot as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.

Notes

Serve immediately. Like fries, okra tastes best right out of the air fryer.
Dry the okra completely before seasoning because moisture is the enemy of crispiness.
Don’t overcrowd the basket. Spread the okra in a single layer so the hot air circulates around each piece.
Shake halfway through. This ensures all sides get crispy and evenly cooked.
I always recommend using small, young okra pods—they’re less fibrous and crisp better.
