Sautéed Mushrooms and Onions

This amazing sautéed mushrooms and onions dish is out of this world! Try it with steaks, burgers, mashed potatoes, and more!

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces crimini mushrooms
  • 2 onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or unsalted butter
  • cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium skillet heat olive oil them add the thinly sliced onion to sauté for a few minutes. Place on high heat until boiling, while stirring occasionally.
  • Meanwhile thoroughly wash the mushrooms then slice in half. Place them in the skillet to sauté with the onions for a few more minutes.
  • Now add in ⅓ cup of soy sauce, ½ cup of water, black pepper and salt to taste.
  • Place on high heat until boiling, while stirring occasionally until.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover the pan and continue to simmer for 12-14 minutes or until liquid is reduced.
  • Enjoy alone or with beef, burger, over mashed potatoes, steak sub, and more!
