Frequently Asked Questions

What are the healthiest salad greens?

Most people use iceberg lettuce in salads, but when looking for the healthiest salad greens, the last one you want to use is an iceberg. Iceberg is actually the least nutritious. For the healthiest salad greens, you can choose green leaf lettuce.

Can I prepare this nugget salad ahead of time?

If you want to prepare this nugget salad ahead of time, you can make the salad and toss it together but do not add the dressing or the avocadoes (avocadoes go brown quickly). After making the salad, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Add the dressing, avocadoes, and the plant based nuggets when you are ready to serve.

What can I use instead of plant-based nuggets?

This salad basically goes with everything. You can serve it along with some baked salmon or oven some grilled chicken.

Can I bake Raised & Rooted™ Plant Based Nuggets in the oven?

Of course you can. You can cook them right in the oven on a tray or in the microwave.
If your using the oven: Preheat it to 400°F. Arrange nuggets on a baking sheet about 1-inch apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until hot.
If you’re using the microwave: Arrange 4 nuggets on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 55-65 seconds or until hot. Let stand for 1 minute, before serving. DO NOT put all the nuggets in the microwave at the same time.

Helpful Tips

Store the leftover salad in a sealed container and not a bowl in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Store the dressing in a container with a lid with as much air removed as possible.

Double your dressing batch so you can always have it on hand to conveniently add to your salad.

The Plant-based Nugget Salad with Barbecue Sauce Vinaigrette ingredients can be prepared ahead of time and kept separate in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat. Just be sure not to add the vinaigrette sauce before serving.
