This colorful wrap is filled with perfectly spiced and cooked meat with delicious vegetables, all wrapped up in yummy pita bread!

    What is Shawarma?

One of the most recognizable Middle Eastern dishes, Shawarma is beef or chicken that is marinated with spices, olive oil, vinegar, and lemon juice, which is then shredded and wrapped in pita bread.

Many different delicious toppings are also wrapped with your protein of choice, such as pickles, pickled turnips, minced parsley, and tomatoes. Finally, it is topped off with flavorful sauces such as garlic sauce (for chicken shawarma) or tahini sauce (for beef shawarma).

Why You Should Try Making Your Own Ultimate Beef Shawarma Sandwich

    Easy and Delicious!

If you are familiar with shawarma in general and beef shawarma to be specific, you would know how extremely delicious it is! It is a common staple in Middle Eastern restaurants, and sometimes you can even find it in food trucks if you are lucky.

As you read ahead, you will see that it is actually so easy to cook it by yourself at home without relying on restaurants or food trucks!

    Freshness and Customization!

Also, it tastes so much better knowing you prepared it yourself, and it tastes fresher as well! You can adjust the ingredients and spices to your liking, choose the freshest meats and toppings, and even choose your preferred cut of meat!

    A Sauce for the Books!

In addition, the Tahini sauce I will be giving you the recipe of is so creamy and delicious and is something you will definitely enjoy! So much so that you can start to incorporate it into other dishes of your choice! These plates can involve meat or other proteins such as fish.

    Healthy Lunch Idea!

Finally, it is quite the healthy lunch or dinner option! Your ultimate beef shawarma sandwich is filled with delicious vegetables, perfectly spiced meat that is cooked in not a lot of fat, and has the healthy tahini sauce as its sauce of choice. Yummy and healthy!

    Ultimate Beef Shawarma Sandwich Secrets

To start off with the choice of meat, you can use any cut you prefer in preparing your shawarma. Some of my favorite types to use are skirt steak or filet mignon. The meat will be heavily marinated regardless, so it will definitely pack a lot of flavor.

However, make sure your meat cut has plenty of fat in it. Any fat will enhance the flavor of your shawarma and elevate it to the next level. That way, you’ll enjoy a greatly juicy and tender ultimate beef shawarma sandwich.

Now, for cutting the meat, make sure to cut your meat into 1 inch strips. You don’t want your cuts to be too small and thin or else they will not be as moist as we want them to be and would dry out. And if your cuts are too large, the meat would not cook well enough or would take too long.

For serving your beef shawarma, you can have it as a pita bread wrap or sandwich, which is the most common way it is served. Don’t forget to pack in lots of tasty toppings along with the beef and your tahini sauce!

You can also choose to serve your beef shawarma as a plate, with some French fries or rice! Serving it over a salad bowl loaded with your favorite toppings is also another way that is gaining quite a lot of traction! Pick your favorite serving method and be assured that it is gonna taste great regardless!

How to Prepare Your Shawarma Sandwich

In a medium bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika and seven spices and set this bowl aside.⁣

Continue by preheating a large skillet over medium heat, adding olive oil. Cook the onions and peppers, until vegetables are tender. Then add the meat strips and cook for about 3 minutes.
