Wow! They’re cooked to perfection!

What is Chicken Kafta Burger?

What is better than a burger sandwich after a long busy day?! Chicken Kafta Burger is! It’s a modern take on a traditional chicken burger. I think it’s one of the most versatile Mediterranean sandwich choices. It is similar to the traditional Beef Kafta Burger that’s usually made with ground beef.

Middle Eastern Chicken Kafta Burger is essentially made with ground chicken, onion, fresh parsley, and a few other ingredients. It’s a great option for a busy day!

How to Shape Middle Eastern Chicken Kafta Burger

Forming the Middle Eastern Chicken Kafta Burgers is easier than you think. All you have to do is:

Use a measuring tablespoon to scoop the chicken mixture and form a small burger ball.

After that, press them down slightly so that they flatten forming a circular shape. Press them down to get the thickness you prefer.

Finally, place them gently in an iron skillet or on a griddle. Chill them before the grilling process so they keep their shape.

Recipe Substitutions and Variations

Don’t like chicken? No worries! You can make this yummy recipe by substituting chicken with other ingredients. Here we go!

You can use ground beef in place of ground chicken, that’s how you will make the original Middle Eastern Kafta recipe. OH! It’s so delicious.

If you are a seafood fan, you can use shrimp instead of chicken. Pair this sandwich with lettuce, and enjoy the yummy taste!

You can also use ground turkey or lamb. They work well! You can add your own spice combinations.

Another combination is to add to the mixture ketchup, eggs, basil, and marjoram. These ingredients will create another level of flavor you can try.

When making a Kafta recipe, I have a long list of amazing side dishes to pair them with. You can impress your loved ones with any of these pleasant side dishes:

Mediterranean Chicken Kafta Burgers are so delicious when you combine then with light salads like fattoush, Simple Middle Eastern Salad, or Lebanese Tabouli Salad. The combination between these burgers and Mediterranean salads compliments the savory flavors.

Smooth Hummus is a popular side dish for kafta, you can grease your burger bun with this incredible dip and trust me, you will eat one more sandwich. When making this recipe, you can break your diet for one time.

You can also cook Cajun Rice to pair it with this burger, your kids will ask for more burgers. Another low-carb option if you are on a restricted diet is to use iceberg lettuce instead of a bun.

Tips for Chicken Kafta Burger

  • To mince the parsley and onions, use a food processor. It makes the chopping process easier and the result is just as good.
  • After chopping parsley and onions, remove excess liquid using a paper towel to dry it as much as possible.
  • It’s better to use fresh ingredients than dried ones, such as fresh parsley which gives a more authentic flavor to Middle Eastern Chicken Kafta Burger.
  • If you don’t have ground chicken, use boneless chicken breast instead. You can easily ground the chicken breast in the food processor.
  • Wet your hands with a bit of water or oil when you form the burgers. This will help you in shaping the burgers, and the mixture doesn’t stick to your hands.
  • Chill the chicken mixture for one hour before grilling, this will help it to better keep its shape.
  • When arranging the burgers on the griddle, make sure that they don’t touch each other, and let them chill for a few minutes to avoid their falling apart when grilled.
  • Generously grease the pan with avocado oil on high hear in order to avoid burgers getting stuck or they’ll fall apart when you turn them over.
