Frequently Asked Questions

Is it better to serve chipotle aioli sauce hot or cold?

It’s best to serve the sauce chilled, neither hot nor cold. You can just prepare and serve it on the same day.

How long can we store the chipotle aioli sauce?

In case of any extras, you should put them in an airtight container then place the jar of this chipotle aioli in the fridge. However, I recommend you serve fresh sauces for a guaranteed satisfaction.

Does a vegan version exist of mayo chipotle aioli?

Of course! For a vegan chipotle aioli, you can use cashews instead of mayo. Here’s a quick step to prep: soak the cashews in hot water for 20 minutes before blending them with the rest of the ingredients. The process is the same as the one for mayo-based sauces.

What You Will Need to Make Chipotle Aioli Dip

All you need is four simple ingredients to prepare this spicy sauce.

Ingredients

Chipotle peppers: They are the stars of the recipe and without them it would lose its spicy characteristics. However, in case you ran out of real chipotle peppers, it’s absolutely fine to use chili pepper flakes or chili powder.

Mayonnaise: Mayo guarantees the thickness of the dip. It’s basically the only ingredient with a thick texture.

Adobo sauce: The secret behind that extra spiciness you’re searching for. When you empty the chipotle peppers out of the can, save two spoons of Adobo sauce. You’ll need them!

Olive oil: As always, olive oil is a staple ingredient! No matter what you’re preparing, you always have to use it. There’s something about this oil that everyone loves.

Lemon juice: One lemon squeeze goes a long way when it comes to sauces. If you feel like your dip is missing something, try to remember if you added lemon juice. It enhances the entire sauce while making it tangier and more savory.

Steps to Prep

In a food processor, combine all the ingredients, along with the Adobo sauce.

Keep blending until the mixture is smooth and creamy, or until you obtain a chipotle pepper puree.
