What Is Muffuletta Olive Mix?

Muffuletta originally refers to Italian bread. It is usually used to make a sandwich by splitting it and filling it with layers of meat and olive salad.

Muffuletta olive salad is so flavorful. It adds much goodness to the recipe. I usually purchase this muffuletta pickled olives jar at Costco. It is possible to find Classic Olive Muffalata on Amazon. I linked it here so you can see what it looks like.

Classic Olive Muffuletta on Amazon usually contains ripe olives, cauliflower, peppers, celery, carrots, spices, and pure soybean oil. This product is vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. It does not contain trans fats or sugars.

It may be pricey on Amazon, so you want to check at your local Costco. Maybe a nearby grocery store may have it! Keep in mind, you don’t need to use this specific brand. You can buy any brand you want and even add some spiciness to it!

Tips and Tricks

You can cut the homemade dough in half to make two separate loaves. If you do not want to consume both, you can cover one on the counter and leave it up to 3 days. You can also keep it in a zip lock bad and toss it in your freezer. Reheat upon serving.

You can add any pickled olive mix you wish to add to this quick dough. It doesn’t necessarily have to be this brand.  There should be different brands in your local grocery stores to choose among.

Warm water is essential when making easy olive bread. It has to be 100-110 degrees. If you do not have a thermometer, you can simply dip your finger in. It should not be too cold, nor too warm or hot. They usually call it Lukewarm water.

Cold water makes it hard to activate the yeast. Hot water might destroy the yeast and deactivate them. So, your dough will not rise and you will end up with a flat loaf.

You can give your olive bread a special shape. So, use a knife to make three shallow cuts on the top of the dough before setting it in the oven.
