    Classic Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches

The most popular take on Philly cheesesteak is a sub or sandwich that originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thinly sliced marinated meat, cooked to perfection with peppers. Then, the star- Provolone cheese slapped right onto the meat before it’s removed from the grill. Laid onto a baguette or bread of choice with a special sauce, who could say no that!

The most traditional Philly cheesesteak recipes use garlic, onions, and green peppers for aromatic natural flavors that marry well with the meat. Another must is thin tender meat that cooks easily on a grill, griddle, or in a regular pan. Next, getting that meat marinated in the perfectly balanced flavors. The must in this marinade is the Worcestershire sauce! Then your spices like black ground pepper and onion powder among others.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the best cut of meat to use in Philly Cheesesteak Sliders?

Rib-eye, striploin, top round, or roast beef work great or pretty much any cut that is thinly sliced and remains tender when cooked.

Do I have to only use Provolone cheese?

Provolone pairs so well with the meat, veggies, and spices of this particular recipe, but of course you have options! You can use American cheese, Swiss, or even mozzarella and you can even mix it up if you’d like!

What vegetables are included in the sauté?

Onions, garlic, peppers (mostly green but any color you prefer), and mushrooms are the traditional additions to this dish.

So many amazing textures and flavors!

    Tips:

    • Make sure your cut of meat is marbleized because that ensures tenderness and helps with the savoriness of the meat.
    • Freezing and thawing out your meat helps make it even more tender.
    • Be sure to cut your meat thin if you’re doing it yourself or if your butcher is cutting it up for you make sure he/she knows how thin you want it. The thinner the better because it won’t become rubbery when cooking it.
    • Serve them up with your favorite chips, fries, tater tots, wedges, curly fries, onion rings, or mozzarella sticks!
    • They key to the packing flavor in the bun is the butter mix that goes on top of the bun before the final heating session! You’d be surprised what a difference this step makes, so don’t skip it!
