The Best Creamy Pasta
Ingredients
Pasta: Feel free to try any kind of pasta you want.
Cream cheese: Softened cream cheese, is the secret ingredient to a rich, smooth, and creamy sauce.
Parmesan cheese: It has a powerful salty flavor. I recommend grating your own Parmesan cheese using the smallest side of the grater so it easily melts in the silky cream. Avoid store-bought or pre-shredded Parmesan, it will not melt in the sauce.
Olive oil: It boosts the flavor of all the ingredients in the recipe.
Garlic cloves: Minced garlic, is aromatic and pungent. It enhances the flavor of the creamy sauce.
Pasta water: Put aside some pasta water and add them later on to the sauce. The starch in the water grants the sauce its silky creamy texture.
Salt and pepper: Add to taste.
Chili flakes: It is totally optional, but if you like a kick of heat, you can add some.

Tips and Tricks
To make sure that your sauce will end up extra creamy, rich, and silky, save some pasta cooking water and add it later on to the sauce.
Don’t sauté the minced garlic with olive oil on high heat. Instead sauté them on low heat for them to infuse in the oil until fragrant.
Don’t overcook the pasta or the sauce. The sauce will eventually dry out if you keep cooking it for a long time, so when it turns creamy remove the pan off the heat. You can add more pasta water if needed. Whereas the pasta needs to be al dente and not overcooked.
You can opt for any type of pasta that suits your diet and preference. Penne, spaghetti, fusilli, farfalle, or linguine you name it! They all work perfectly well with this recipe.
