I love my homemade electrolyte drink. It only needs four ingredients that I use every day in my kitchen and a few minutes to be ready.

The other day, I felt dizzy. The weather was so hot and I was dehydrated. I needed an electrolyte drink, but I did not want to have all artificial colors and sweeteners.

My main concern was to have a natural homemade electrolyte drink. So, I decided to make my own Homemade Electrolyte Drink!

I made a glass and I was fine in 2o minutes. I got my balance back. It did boost my energy and got me back to my normal activity. Magical!

What Are Electrolytes? Why Do You Need Them?

Electrolytes are the minerals that exist in you body. Some main electrolytes are sodium, potassium, and chloride. They are essential to keep your body hydrated by balancing the amount of water.

We lose electrolytes and fluids through sweat and other wastes. It’s crucial to replenish them especially in hot weather.

    Replenish you Body and Soul!

A refreshing glass of electrolyte with some ice cubes is perfect for a hot summer day
Refresh yourself! It is incredibly tasty!

It Is always a Good Time for a Light Refreshing Electrolyte Drink!

We usually get the electrolytes through foods like spinach or kale. However, in case of intense physical exercises or in hot weather, we lose the electrolytes fast because of sweating.

So, it is ideal to prepare a bright electrolyte drink and take it with you. If you are heading to the park, going hiking, biking, swimming, or even fishing, a Homemade Electrolyte Drink is your best choice to stay hydrated and energetic.

Got a cold or flu? It might be hard for you to eat in this case, so we will have low electrolytes. Then, having an electrolyte drink will support your hydration system. It will help keep your body balanced.

This refreshing electrolyte drink is perfect for a summer evening on your porch. What an energetic drink to share with your guests. They will ask for more!

Keep It Ready! You Never Know When You Need a Boost of Energy!

You can always have electrolytes drink in your fridge. Double or triple the ingredients. Pour the juice into a mason jar. You can take a glass whenever you feel hot, dizzy, and dehydrated.

And oh! Do not forget to tell me about all the positive vibes you feel when you try this homemade electrolyte drink!

Refreshing Cold Drink Full with Natural Ingredients

A glass of cold electrolyte made of lemon, orange, Himalayan salt, and honey is perfect especially after sports activities.
Keep a glass in your fridge! It will always bring up your mood!

    Make your Own Twists!

You can try different twists on your electrolyte drink. Make a new version for a new day to stay hydrated and energetic. Let’s dive in!

    Lemonade Electrolyte Drink

If you do not have oranges, you can replace them with water. You will get a lightly sweetened lemonade. You can adjust the sweetness and the salt to your linking. This electrolyte drink is infused with salt and potassium.

    Coconut Water Electrolyte Drink

In case you do not have oranges or you want to make a change, use unsweetened coconut water. It is rich in potassium which makes it perfect in case you suffer from muscle cramps.

    Strawberry Electrolyte Drink

Let’s replace orange with coconut water and strawberries for this time. But, you need to blend them at high speed.

The sweetness of strawberries and honey will balance the tart lemon and salt to give an incredible taste. Your body will restore all the electrolytes you lost during your daily activities.

    Grapefruit Twist for Electrolyte Drink

Add grapefruit with the lemon and oranges. Adjust the amount of honey or maple syrup to suit your taste.

Why Pink Himalayan Salt You Ask?

Himalayan Salt has traces of minerals such as manganese, zinc, calcium, and potassium. What makes it better than table salt is that it has a lower amount of sodium.

The minerals that are in Pink Himalayan salt are essential electrolytes to the body’s balance and hydration. So, Himalayan salt is a must for electrolyte drinks.

    Easy Reviving Drink!

A cold electrolyte made at home is perfect for a long busy day to refresh yourself.
    Oh-So-Refreshing! Yummy!

    Tips and Tricks

Not a fan of honey? Are you vegan? You can always use maple syrup instead. Give it a try!

If the taste is too citrus, you can dilute this electrolyte drink with some water.

For an extra refreshing electrolyte drink, add some ice cubes to your glass.

Do not use store-bought juice. The point is to make an electrolyte sports drink of natural ingredients with no additives, sugar, or dyes. Choose fresh shiny lemons and oranges to get the best electrolyte drink!

Are you too busy to take care of yourself? Using your hands or a simple squeezer, squeeze the lemon and oranges into a pint mason jar. Add the honey and salt, close the jar, shake, and drink! Oh-so-good!

    Frequently Asked Questions

When should I take the electrolyte drink?

It is always a good time for a refreshing drink. However, if you are planning for an intense physical activity, take a glass one hour before you start. Try to take some during sports. After you finish, you take some more to replenish your body with the electrolyte you lose because of sweating.

Is this homemade electrolyte drink kid friendly?

This healthy drink has orange, lemon, honey, and Himalayan salt. All these ingredients are healthy and boost the energy of your kid especially if he looks tired or sick. But pay attention, do not give it to babies before they are one year old because it has honey.

Do electrolyte hydrate me faster than water?

Drinking water is essential to stay hydrated. What gives electrolyte a bonus point is the electrolyte coming from natural ingredients like lemon, orange, Himalayan salt, and honey that I used.
