What Are Electrolytes? Why Do You Need Them?

Electrolytes are the minerals that exist in you body. Some main electrolytes are sodium, potassium, and chloride. They are essential to keep your body hydrated by balancing the amount of water.

We lose electrolytes and fluids through sweat and other wastes. It’s crucial to replenish them especially in hot weather.

We usually get the electrolytes through foods like spinach or kale. However, in case of intense physical exercises or in hot weather, we lose the electrolytes fast because of sweating.

So, it is ideal to prepare a bright electrolyte drink and take it with you. If you are heading to the park, going hiking, biking, swimming, or even fishing, a Homemade Electrolyte Drink is your best choice to stay hydrated and energetic.

Got a cold or flu? It might be hard for you to eat in this case, so we will have low electrolytes. Then, having an electrolyte drink will support your hydration system. It will help keep your body balanced.

Coconut Water Electrolyte Drink

In case you do not have oranges or you want to make a change, use unsweetened coconut water. It is rich in potassium which makes it perfect in case you suffer from muscle cramps.

Strawberry Electrolyte Drink

Let’s replace orange with coconut water and strawberries for this time. But, you need to blend them at high speed.

The sweetness of strawberries and honey will balance the tart lemon and salt to give an incredible taste. Your body will restore all the electrolytes you lost during your daily activities.
