What is Taco Bell’s Quesadilla Sauce

Taco Bell’s creamy Jalapeño sauce is hands down, the reason why everyone’s so obsessed with their chicken quesadilla (one of my favorite items on their menu, might I add).

So basically, you should expect a flour tortilla made with chicken, cheese, and their incredible sauce!

But worry not! It is time to bid those late night crawls farewell, because this Copycat Taco Bell Quesadilla Sauce recipe will take the junk-food-guilt factor away, and allow you to make something delicious from the comfort of your own home!

P.s. This will save you money, effort, and gas! Life just got a bit sweeter! LOL!

Tastes like Taco Bell!

Serving Suggestions

I have quite a lot to say here, because this is my favorite part in any recipe! I just love giving serving suggestions, especially if the end-product is super versatile like this sauce!

Use it as dipping sauce for tortilla chips, chicken tenders, nacho chips (with cheese obviously), or dunk that loaded homemade quesadilla right in there!

This one is also a great sauce for taco salads (as a salad dressing), burrito bowls, burgers, tacos or fajitas, or just any Mexican-inspired meal, especially cheese quesadilla.

Honestly, however you choose to use this sauce, I am pretty sure you will enjoy every bite!

While You Are at It, Give a Taco Bell Quesadilla a Chance!

Making Taco Bell’s signature chicken cheese Quesadilla couldn’t get any easier! Here’s how you do it!

Start by seasoning chicken breast on both sides with salt and pepper, then cooking it in a hot skillet with vegetable oil on medium-high heat.

The next step would be dealing with the bread tortilla. Place them in a hot skillet, then add a tablespoon of sauce and cheese (shredded cheese and a slice of American cheese) with half of the chicken on one side of the tortilla.

Finally, fold tortilla and press gently with a spatula. Cook for a few minutes on each side.

Cut it into 4 pieces with a pizza cutter, and enjoy!

Variations

As much as I love a good old traditional Taco Bell Quesadilla, it is so much fun mixing things up!

Try substituting the chicken with ground beef or steak. Follow the same instructions mentioned above and you should be fine!

Oh! You can also indulge in a vegetarian Tex-Mex quesadilla made with a spicy corn and black bean mixture! Sounds delicious, no?!

Storing Tips

Let me give you a quick tip. Learn how to properly store Taco Bell’s Quesadilla sauce, because it is super versatile and can be used in a whole bunch of different ways. You simply won’t get enough of it!

To store: Store this sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week. It may keep for a bit longer.

To Freeze: Since this recipe is made with mayonnaise as the base, I don’t necessarily recommend freezing. I don’t think there is a need anyways, you can easily whip it out in seconds!

Tips for The Best Taco Bell Sauce

Tip 1: If you are interested in an extra spicy flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Enjoy your spicy sauce!

Tip 2: Give creamy jalapeño sauce a chance, by putting the ingredients in a food processor.

Tip 3: Replace the mayo with sour cream or ranch dressing if it is not available. I will always prefer Mayo though.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to chill the sauce?

You can absolutely have a taste right away, but you will best enjoy the sauce if it was chilled for at least 2 hours, and a minimum of 30 minutes.

How can I reduce the spicy taste?

The obvious answer would be to cut back on the jalapeño slices. But if it is too late, then add in some extra sour cream. That should fix the problem right away.

Can I use fresh Jalapeño instead of pickled?

Some recipes use fresh jalapeño peppers instead of pickled. I have personally never tried it before, so I can’t be a judge of the taste. However, I would suggest playing it safe and sticking to the recommended ingredients found in the recipe card if this is your first try.

List of Simple Ingredients

Mayonnaise: Use your favorite mayonnaise or even homemade mayo.

Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt: Feel free to use either one of these options, according to what’s available. You can use full fat or light sour cream.

Pickled jalapeño, diced: You can adjust the amount used according to your preferences.

Pickled jalapeño juice, from jar: This one is also called Jalapeño brine. There is no need to buy it separately, use it from the jar you are already using.

Seasoning: You will need garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, cumin powder, and salt.

Follow The Instructions

In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients until well combined.

Enjoy right away.  For best results, place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
