The Best Pumpkin Puree

Pumpkin puree, one of the main ingredients in this recipe, is cooked pumpkin, blended or mashed in a food processor. The result is an orange, smooth pulp that has a terrific taste.

How to Prepare Pumpkin Puree

For this recipe, I used prepared canned pumpkin purée but you can prepare these amazing No-Bake, Pumpkin Spice Energy Bites making your own pumpkin purée. So, here is how it goes.

The first step is to choose a small-sized pumpkin and wash it well. Then, cut it in half, remove the seeds, and scrape out the pulp using a scoop.

Next, place the extracted pumpkin pulp, the plant-based protein, onto a baking sheet, and roast it in an oven of 350 F for about 40 minutes. Peel off the skin from the pumpkin pieces after removing them from the oven.

After that, mash the pumpkin into a puree using a food processor or a potato masher. If the puree is thick, add some water and blend again.

Store the pumpkin puree in the refrigerator to use it later on.

What Is Pumpkin Spice?

Although it is called Pumpkin Spice or Pumpkin Pie Spice, this seasoning does not actually contain pumpkin. Rather, it’s a combo of warming spices.

To prepare this combo, you just need to mix equal amounts of the following spices: ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and all-spice or cloves. Then, you’re all ready to prepare those crunchy no-bake pumpkin spice bites.
